As a post 95, I don't like the kind of comfortable days in my hometown too much, and I always want to go to my favorite city to live and fight. But would it be too selfish to think that way?
Actually, no, it is everyone's basic right and freedom to choose where to live.

The fact that you would feel selfish just shows that you are a good boy who is kind and knows how to think of his family and is filial.
However, there are many ways to be filial, and being kind doesn't have to mean sacrificing your dreams.
As long as you have a clear conscience on the way to follow your dreams, it's fine. Many of my friends have left their hometowns, but they have become more understanding and filial, and get along with their parents more harmoniously. The key to the problem is not where you live, but that you feel there is a conflict between going out and filial piety. In fact, they are not conflicting, what matters is how you take care and act.
