I've recently resolved to adjust my personality.
I find myself talking too much, usually when no one talks to me, but once someone talks to me, I can't stop talking. I always think that too much talk will lead to loss, but I just can't control it, it's really annoying. How can I get rid of this problem?
And often accidentally say hurtful things that they themselves regret afterward.
Hello my friend! Reading what you shared, I can feel that you are a bit aggravated and confused.
You said you feel like you talk too much with people and that it's easy to say the wrong thing. Is there something specific that makes you feel that way? Have others ever directly commented that you talk too much? This must be quite confusing and aggravating for you.
So you want to change and wish you could talk less. You think it would be better. But is this "better" how you feel, or is it how you think others would see it? You care about what others think of you for talking too much, don't you?
I can see that you have high expectations of yourself and are a positive person who always wants to be better.
If you want to talk less, the next time you talk, listen more to what the other person is saying, try to find topics that interest them, then ask questions about the details and continue to listen carefully. Try not to interrupt. It may be uncomfortable at first, but you'll notice what's on the other person's mind that you missed before. Good luck in realizing the change soon!
